Subsea cables to link renewable energy between Scotland and England

A 4.3 billion pound ‘superhighway’ subsea cable connecting England to Scotland has been approved by regulators as part of a move to modernise and improve capacity of renewable energy transmission. Although bi-directional, it is expected that the majority of energy flow will be south from Scotland. Most of the cabling will route through the North Sea, although at least one cable will also run down the west coast.
